How to Transfer Contacts from SIM to SIM

1. Transfer using the Easy Backup app for Android

If you have an Android phone, Easy Backup represents just about the easiest way to transfer your contacts from SIM to SIM. The process is made easy thanks to the ‘one-touch’ system that Easy Backup offers. First, you need to download the Easy Backup app from the Play Store. Then, open the app, create an account, and follow this simple process:

  • Tap on the ‘Backup Now’ icon. Another tap on “Tap to Upload” will upload your contacts to a secured cloud. This has been designed to let you quickly backup your contacts to keep them safe.

If a SIM card is in the device you are transferring to, it is now possible to receive the transferred contacts list and store it directly onto the card. To do so, tap “Preview” on the downloaded backup file and choose some or all of your contacts and then tap “Restore Contacts”.

2. Transfer using the Easy Backup app for iOS

For those with an Apple device, the easiest option to transfer contacts from SIM to SIM using the Easy Backup app. To begin, all you have to do is download the Easy Backup app from the App Store and open it.

  • Choose the icon marked ‘Backup Now’. This will save your contacts all in one place.

3. Transfer contacts from SIM to SIM using the Android Contacts app

Another way to transfer contacts from SIM to SIM is to use the Export function in the Contacts app on your Android device. Start by opening the app and then:

  1. Choose the three small dots, which are sometimes marked with the word ‘More’.

  2. Tap ‘Import/Export’, which can also be labeled as just ‘Export’.

  3. Select ‘Share contacts’ and you can now transfer your contacts with options such as email, messaging Bluetooth or Wi-fi.

Make sure you have another phone with a SIM card inside it ready to receive the email, message, wi-fi connection or Bluetooth transfer. Once you have saved the vCard (which contains the contacts) onto the second SIM card, you now need to open the Android Contacts app on that phone.

  1. Choose the ‘More’ option, which can be marked by three small dots.

  2. Choose ‘Import’ or ‘Import/Export’ and then ‘Import’.

  3. Select the location of the contacts to be imported, which is on the SIM card.

The phone will now automatically import the contacts into your address book. Of course, you can also simply keep the contacts on the second SIM card without importing them. That way you will have a backed-up version of your contacts stored on another SIM.
